Overview

A classic cottage garden climber with large, fragrant, tubular, creamy-white flowers, streaked dark red-purple, that give it a two-tone appearance. In hot summers, the flowers may be followed by small, bright red fruits. This deciduous honeysuckle flowers later than most varieties, and will keep on producing scent and flowers for several weeks in late summer and autumn. It looks lovely scrambling over a wall or fence or growing through a robust tree and it prefers light shade.

Care guide

Cut back established plants after flowering, removing a third of the flowering shoots. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted compost or manure around the base of the plant in early spring.

Pots and Packaging
Larger pots (2L and above) are wrapped in waxed paper and then attached to a cardboard base so they stay stable in the box. The waxed paper prevents the compost from spilling out and gives the base some added protection from damp compost. For large numbers of plants, pallets may be used for shipping.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
